I heard this song today on the radio and, I swear, I didn’t have a clue who the artist was. I rushed home to google the song title. Imagine my surprise when I found that Miley Cyrus was the voice behind these amazing lyrics.
If you are a writer still climbing toward that elusive first book contract or first publishing clip, I urge you to really listen to these words. We can all relate to facing obstacles, rejections, disappointments; The one step forward, two steps back that would defeat us if not for that burning passion that fuels us. It is that passion that keeps us firmly grounded to the next ledge as our eyes remain fixed ever upward.

I’ve been listening to Miley/Hannah a lot recently. (Daughters in the house!) One thing I appreciate is that she has lots of songs with lyrics that are appropriate and inspiring for the elementary age set. (And for adults too.)
