Portfolio

Thank you for visiting my select portfolio. I’m an innovative and multifaceted writer, editor, GenAI/LLM trainer, and storyteller with an MFA in writing and experience crafting content for Google’s user-facing help center, newspapers, magazines, and award-winning books. Below is a sampling that shows the range of my writing for different audiences and formats.  I was recently laid off by Accenture, where I was a writer on the Google team. I am now available for other opportunities.

Sample UX / Tech articles edited and/or written for Google's Help Center via Accenture

As a Technical Writing Analyst for Accenture, on the Google team, I wrote and/or edited almost one hundred user-facing help center articles and knowledge-based guides for Google service agents. To achieve the objectives, I followed Google’s style guide and standard operating procedures (SOPs), utilized a content management system and a project management system, and collaborated with subject matter experts and stakeholders. Additionally, I worked as a trainer for Google’s GenAI chatbot Bard.

As a freelance writer of literature for young readers, I am occasionally commissioned to write books for publishers or organizations, with specific objectives as a guide. My books that were not commissioned originated with me and were ultimately acquired by trade publishers. To attract trade publishers with my original work, I must write to exceptionally high standards, stay abreast of trends and timely events, highlight curriculum tie-ins, be open to revision feedback, and meet all deadlines. My trade books have garnered such accolades as starred reviews, Junior Library Guild selection, NCTE Orbis Pictus Recommendation, a Carter G. Woodson Award Honor from NCSS, ALA/ALSC Notable lists, NCSS Notable lists, multiple best-of-the-year lists, and nominations to state book awards, including the acclaimed Texas Bluebonnet Award.

Ghostwritten books are intentionally omitted from this sampling.
